2. By what and through what are we saved?

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God

Grace – God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.  Grace is getting what we don’t deserve and mercy is not getting what we do deserve.  Because of our sins we deserve eternal death and spending eternity in hell.  But God gives us the gift of eternal life (grace) through our faith (belief, trust, and obedience) in Jesus as the son of God.
